Last updated: September 2026
Welcome to GeoHUG Academy.
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of GeoHUG Academy, including courses, videos, presentations, downloadable materials and other learning content made available through our platform.
GeoHUG Academy is operated by GeoHUG Pty Ltd (“GeoHUG”, “we”, “our” or “us”).
By creating an account, purchasing or enrolling in a course, or accessing GeoHUG Academy, you agree to these Terms of Use.
Please read them carefully before enrolling.
1. GeoHUG Academy
GeoHUG Academy provides online professional education, training and learning resources.
Some courses are created or delivered in partnership with third-party organisations, industry professionals and presenters.
The Senior Exploration Management Course is delivered by GeoHUG in partnership with Western Mining Services (WMS) and features course content presented by Jon Hronsky, Jeff Welborn and Steve Bussey.
GeoHUG provides the digital platform, distribution and administration of the course, while WMS provides the specialist course content and presenters.
2. Course enrolment and access
When you purchase or are enrolled in a GeoHUG Academy course, you are granted a limited, personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to access and use that course for your own professional learning.
Your access period will be stated on the relevant course page, enrolment information or offer at the time of purchase.
Course access is for one individual user only, unless GeoHUG has expressly agreed to a group, team, corporate or multi-user licence.
You must not:
Share your account or login details with another person
Allow another person to access a course through your account
Purchase one individual enrolment for use by multiple people
Transfer or resell your enrolment
Provide course materials to colleagues or other third parties who are not separately authorised to access them
If your organisation would like access for multiple people, please contact GeoHUG regarding team or corporate enrolment options.
3. Intellectual property
The courses and materials available through GeoHUG Academy contain valuable intellectual property belonging to GeoHUG, WMS, course presenters, course partners and/or their respective licensors.
This may include:
Video presentations

Course structure and supporting resources
All intellectual property rights remain with their respective owners.
Your enrolment gives you permission to access and use these materials for your own personal professional learning and reference only.
Unless you have received prior written permission from GeoHUG and, where relevant, the applicable content owner, you must not:
Copy or reproduce course materials
Distribute or share course materials
Publish course materials online or elsewhere
Upload course materials to a shared drive, intranet, document repository or similar system for access by others
Record, screen-record, photograph or capture course videos or presentations for redistribution
Modify, adapt or create derivative training materials from the course
Use course materials to deliver your own training, workshops or presentations
Sell, licence, sublicense or commercially exploit any course materials

Make course materials available to any person who is not authorised to access them
Upload substantial course content, presentations or proprietary materials to generative AI platforms, machine-learning systems, training datasets or similar services for the purpose of reproducing, analysing, training on or redistributing the material
Downloading a presentation or other resource where GeoHUG provides a download option does not transfer ownership of that material or give you permission to reproduce or distribute it.
You are welcome — and encouraged — to apply the ideas and principles you learn through the course in your professional work. These restrictions relate to copying and distributing the actual course content and intellectual property.
4. Senior Exploration Management course materials
The Western Mining Services Senior Exploration Management Course contains specialist material developed through extensive professional experience within the mineral exploration industry.
Downloadable WMS presentation slides are provided to enrolled participants as an ongoing personal reference resource.
They may be revisited as often as your permitted course access or downloaded materials allow, but they must not be copied, distributed, forwarded, published or made available to others without permission.
Where copyright or ownership notices appear on WMS materials, those notices must remain intact.
5. Educational purpose
GeoHUG Academy courses are provided for education and professional development.
While our presenters and course partners may have significant professional and industry experience, course content is general in nature and is not intended to constitute specific:
Geological advice
Investment or financial advice
Legal advice
Commercial advice
Tax advice
Engineering advice
Safety advice
Regulatory advice
Mineral exploration involves uncertainty and decisions that depend heavily on the circumstances of each project, organisation, jurisdiction and opportunity.
The Senior Exploration Management Course in particular is designed to encourage broader strategic thinking and introduce principles, concepts and frameworks. It does not provide a definitive answer for every exploration situation.
You remain responsible for applying your own professional judgement and obtaining appropriate specialist advice when making decisions.
6. No guarantee of results
We aim to provide high-quality educational material, but participation in a GeoHUG Academy course does not guarantee any particular professional, commercial, exploration, financial or career outcome.
We do not guarantee that:
Applying a particular concept will lead to exploration success
A project will result in a discovery
A particular investment or commercial decision will succeed
Completing a course will result in employment, promotion or financial benefit
Every concept will be appropriate for every company, jurisdiction, commodity or project
Results depend on circumstances beyond the control of GeoHUG, WMS and the course presenters.
7. Course content and updates
We may periodically update, improve, reorganise or replace course materials to keep programs relevant and functional.
This may include changes to:
Videos
Lesson titles
Course structure
Downloads
Exercises
Presenters
Resources
Platform functionality
We will aim to ensure that any changes do not materially reduce the overall value of a course you have purchased.
Course content reflects the knowledge, opinions and circumstances applicable when it was created or most recently updated. Industries, regulations, technologies, markets and professional practices may change over time.
8. Technical access
GeoHUG Academy is currently hosted using Thinkific.
You are responsible for having a suitable device, internet connection, browser and any other technology required to access the course.
We will take reasonable steps to maintain access to the platform but cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability at all times.
Temporary interruptions may occur because of:
Platform maintenance
Technical problems
Internet outages
Third-party service failures
Security issues
Events outside our reasonable control
Where a significant technical issue affects your ability to access a purchased course, please contact us and we will make reasonable efforts to assist.

You must notify us if you believe:
Someone else has accessed your account
Your login details have been compromised

You are responsible for activity occurring through your account except where that activity results from a security failure for which GeoHUG is responsible.

This may include circumstances involving:
Account sharing
Unauthorised reproduction or distribution of course materials
Intellectual property infringement
Fraudulent activity
Misuse of the platform
Serious inappropriate conduct
Where reasonable, we will contact you before terminating access and provide an opportunity to address the issue.
Serious or deliberate misuse may result in immediate suspension while the matter is investigated.
Termination under this section does not affect any rights or remedies available under applicable law.
12. Pricing and payment
Course prices will be displayed before purchase.
Depending on your location and payment method, prices may be displayed or processed in different currencies and may be subject to applicable taxes, duties, currency conversion or payment-provider charges.
You are responsible for ensuring the information supplied during checkout is accurate.
Where a company or other organisation purchases enrolment on behalf of an individual, additional invoicing or corporate purchasing terms may apply.
13. Refunds and Australian Consumer Law
We want participants to understand what they are purchasing before enrolling. Course descriptions, curriculum information and other relevant details are provided before checkout.
Except where otherwise stated in a particular course offer, GeoHUG does not ordinarily provide refunds simply because you change your mind after purchasing a digital course or gaining access to course materials.
However, nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable legislation.
Where you are legally entitled to a remedy because a service does not meet applicable consumer guarantees, GeoHUG will provide the remedy required by law.
If you experience a problem with a course or believe you are entitled to a refund or other remedy, please contact [email protected] so we can review the circumstances.
14. Third-party services and links
GeoHUG Academy uses third-party services including Thinkific and payment-processing providers.
Our courses may also contain links to third-party websites, research, publications, videos, platforms or other resources.
We do not control third-party services and are not responsible for their availability, content, security or privacy practices.
Access to third-party services may be subject to separate terms and policies.
15. Privacy
Your use of GeoHUG Academy is also subject to our Privacy Policy.
The Privacy Policy explains how GeoHUG Pty Ltd collects, uses and shares personal information, including information processed through Thinkific and information shared with course partners such as Western Mining Services where applicable.
By using GeoHUG Academy, you acknowledge that your personal information will be handled in accordance with that Policy.
16. Feedback and testimonials
We may invite you to provide feedback about a course.
Providing feedback does not automatically give GeoHUG permission to publicly identify you or publish your testimonial with your name, image, employer or other identifying details.
Where we wish to use identifiable feedback for promotional purposes, we will seek appropriate permission.
We may use anonymous or aggregated feedback to evaluate and improve our programs.
17. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, GeoHUG Pty Ltd, its course partners and presenters will not be liable for loss arising solely from a participant's independent decision to apply general educational material to a particular professional, geological, commercial, investment or business situation without considering the circumstances of that situation or obtaining appropriate professional advice.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including rights and remedies that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
18. International participants
GeoHUG Academy is available to participants in multiple countries.
You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the course and application of its content complies with laws, regulations, professional standards and requirements applicable in your jurisdiction.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to remove any mandatory consumer rights that apply to you under applicable law.
19. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to our courses, platform, business practices or legal requirements.
The latest version will be published through GeoHUG Academy and will show the date it was last updated.
Material changes will apply prospectively unless applicable law permits otherwise.
20. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia and the applicable laws of the Australian State or Territory in which GeoHUG Pty Ltd is registered or principally operates.
Nothing in this section prevents a consumer from relying on mandatory rights available to them under applicable consumer law.
